1. Attending a thematic seminar organised by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit (CEPU), together with two deputy heads, Ms Hinny Lam and Dr Wang Chunxin, attended a thematic seminar organised by CAITEC. At the seminar, participating experts discussed topics such as the “dual circulation” strategy and its implications for Hong Kong.

2. Attending a thematic seminar organised by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, together with two deputy heads, Ms Hinny Lam and Dr Wang Chunxin, attended a thematic seminar organised by CASTED, which was directly under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). They discussed topics such as strategies for “building prosperity through science and technology” and “new quality productive forces” with participating experts.

3. Holding a CEPU Expert Group seminar on the implications of the “two sessions” for Hong Kong

The CEPU held a seminar at which members of the CEPU Expert Group shared their insights on the key content of the “two sessions” this year and their implications for Hong Kong’s future development through in-depth exchanges and discussions.

4. Attending an internal seminar organised for leaders, experts and scholars of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and representatives from the political, business and professional sectors in Hong Kong

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, attended an internal seminar jointly organised by the Chinese Institute of Hong Kong and the Office of Dr the Hon Chow Man-kong. At the seminar, leaders, experts and scholars of the CASS and representatives from the political, business and professional sectors in Hong Kong discussed the economic prospects of Hong Kong.

Participants of the seminar included leaders, experts and scholars of the CASS as well as representatives from the political, business and professional sectors in Hong Kong.

5. Attending an import and export industry exchange forum

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, and Dr Wang Chunxin, Deputy Head of the CEPU, attended an import and export industry exchange forum, which was jointly co-organised by Dr the Hon Kennedy Wong, Legislative Council Member for the Import and Export functional constituency, the Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ and Exporters’ Association, and the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, to tap into the views of local industry.

6. Attending the InnoEX organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, attended the InnoEX organised by the HKTDC. Ms Jenny Koo, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, and Ms Lolita Chan, Business Development Manager of the HKTDC, each gave Dr Wong a guided tour. They exchanged views with Dr Wong on technology commercialisation as well as on technological innovation.

7. Meeting with members of the committees of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, met with members of the committees of the FSDC to exchange views on the research report titled “Realising the Potential of Blockchain in Advancing Hong Kong’s Financial Services Industry” recently released by the FSDC.

8. Meeting with representatives of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) (ICBC (Asia))

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, met with Mr Zeng Peiqing, General Manager of the Strategic Planning and Investment Management Department of ICBC (Asia), and his team, who shared their experience and insights in leveraging Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre to co-ordinate business development in the region.

9. Meeting with Mr Wen Hongwu, General Manager of the Bauhinia Culture Group, and his team

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, and Dr Wang Chunxin, Deputy Head of the CEPU, met with Mr Wen Hongwu, General Manager of the Bauhinia Culture Group, and his team to discuss and exchange views on the development of Hong Kong into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange and the development of the cultural and creative industries.

10. Meeting with Mr Wang Haimin, General Manager of the China Tourism Group (CTG), and his team

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, met with Mr Wang Haimin, General Manager, and Ms Liu Kun, Vice General Manager of the CTG and their teams to exchange views on the development of Hong Kong’s tourism policies.

11. Meeting with representatives of the Aviation Policy and Research Center (APRC), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, met with Dr Andrew Yuen, Director, and Dr Law Cheung-kwok, Senior Consultant of Policy Research and Knowledge Transfer of the APRC, CUHK, to discuss measures to consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as the international aviation hub.

12. Meeting with Ms Chiang Lai-yuen, Chairman of Chen Hsong Holdings Limited, and her team

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, met with Ms Chiang Lai-yuen, Chairperson of Chen Hsong Holdings Limited, and her team to discuss the opportunities and challenges for industrial development of Hong Kong.

13. Meeting with Mr Eric Liang, Vice Chairman, and Dr Felix Lee, Co-CEO of the GBA Healthcare Group Limited (GBAH)

Dr Stephen Wong, Head of the CEPU, and Dr Wang Chunxin, Deputy Head of the CEPU, met with Mr Eric Liang, Vice Chairman, and Dr Felix Lee, Co-CEO of the GBAH, to exchange views on issues including healthcare services and insurance market integration in the Greater Bay Area.
